Trader Joe’s Just Released 2 New Exciting Ice Cream Flavors

The official start of summer, or ice cream season, is next Wednesday. Even though everyone enjoys this beloved frozen dessert all year round, warmer weather increases demand for it. Trader Joe’s, the frozen food haven, is the best place to go if you want to test new flavors.

Two of the cherished speciality grocery chain’s beloved products, which have been back in stock for a while, are among the frequently introduced new products.

The introduction of S’Mores Ice Cream was revealed by TJ’s marketing execs on June 12 in the most recent “Inside Trader Joe’s” podcast. The new flavor, which costs $3.79 a pint and tastes like graham cracker ice cream with swirls of marshmallow and chocolate.

However, as Trader Joe’s vice president of marketing Matt Sloan noted, “It’s not so much a deconstructed s’more as it is a mixed up ice cream that is absolutely s’more-like in its flavors.” The name of the flavor may have consumers expecting graham cracker, chocolate, or marshmallow add-ins.

Trader Joe’s vice president of marketing Tara Miller continued by mentioning that she had tasted the flavor in a prior incarnation that included chunks of graham cracker.

The bits, she said, become “so soggy” and “you didn’t get that flavor.” According to Miller, the taste of graham crackers “really comes through” with the new variant.

Trader Joe’s fan account @traderjoeslist, also referred to as Natasha Fischer, raved over the new frozen treat, calling it “really good” and praising its smooth, chunk-free consistency. She continued, “If I didn’t know what flavor this was, s’mores wouldn’t come to mind, but it does have a marshmallowy flavor.”

The Golden Caramel Swirl Ice Cream is another recent addition to Trader Joe’s freezer section. Similar to the s’mores flavor, a pint of this ice cream costs $3.79.

This new flavor, called “super premium,” has swirls of salted caramel over vanilla and chocolate ice cream. The term “super premium” indicates a high fat content and minimal overrun (air).

This product is familiar, if that makes any sense. A flavor with the same name was formerly available at Trader Joe’s, but it came in a different container.

The ice cream variation in question is now manufactured using a different recipe, as @traderjoeslist pointed out in the Instagram post’s comment area. And it appears that TJ’s followers are enjoying the new product.

One Instagram user wrote, “It’s so delicious and creamy.” “This looks like Gold Medal Ribbon from Baskin Robbins, my favorite ice cream flavor!” a further addition.
